Yesterday, Ms. Nolan’s room had a room transformation while the eighth graders turned into detectives. Students solved several clues to complete the “Slope Murder Mystery!” #MTA #Math 🔎

Several eighth graders volunteered to teach second grade with a stations activity. The eighth graders practiced great leadership skills. The theme of the activity was math concepts relating to future careers. The first station, led by Savanna and Rebekah, was carpentry and practicing measuring. The second station, led by Marquis, Bianca, and Makenzi, involved a variety of jobs. They were teachers and corrected papers, cooks making equal equations, builders building towers with blocks. When they completed their jobs, they earned money for them to shop. The third station, led by Ashton and Emele, was all about clocks and telling time. The final station, led by AJ, Monet, and Lanayla, included subtraction as a countdown. #MTA #Math

Second grade kicked off the new year with penguins! The class learned that penguins have a special waxy coating on their feathers that keep them dry while they swim in the ocean. To recreate this, students used crayons to color pictures of a penguin, then sprayed water on them. The class made observations about how the water droplets rested on top of the crayon and didn't seep through. Their colored penguins stayed completely dry just like real penguins do! #MTA 🐧

Happy New Year! As we begin this new journey in 2025, we thank you all for truly making a difference in our students' lives, not just in 2024, but always! Thank you for your continued support and generosity in 2025, and may the new year bless you with health, prosperity, and happiness. #MTA #HappyNewYear 🎆

Wishing you a Christmas that’s merry and bright, filled with love and joy. Have a wonderful holiday season! #MTA #MerryChristmas #HappyHolidays 🎄❄️

Yesterday was “Dress Like an Elf” day. Our campus also got surprise visits from Santa and the Grinch! They even joined in our volleyball games! We had a great time celebrating this day with them! #MTA #ChristmasFun 🎅⛄🎄❄

Students in kindergarten-fourth grade continued Christmas Spirit Week by decorating ornaments together in the cafeteria! They then watched a holiday movie and enjoyed some snacks. It was wonderful to see all their smiling faces! #MTA #HolidayFun ⛄🎄

Our third annual “Winter Wonderland” holiday concert was held last Thursday. First and second grade kicked it off with their set, including songs “We Will Jingle” and “Snowman, Where’d You Go?” The fifth grade Ukulele Ensemble hit the stage with some fun tunes, including “Silver Bells,” “Mele Kalikimaka,” and “Silent Night.” The “Singing Saints” gave us a tremendous rendition of “Last Christmas.” The third and fourth grade chorale closed out the night by spreading Christmas cheer with classics like “Snow” and “Candy Cane Lane.” Guests were also treated to a hot cocoa bar, cookies, and treats! Happy holidays everyone! #MTA #WinterWonderland 🎄❄🎅🤶⛄

The “S.A.I.N.T. of the Month” program is a way to acknowledge and celebrate individual achievement. It helps create a school culture that values academic success, as well as elevates awareness of student contributions to the learning environment. We are very proud of the students chosen for the months of November/December! #MTA #Family 🔵🟠⚪

We wish everyone in our Saints community a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving. We are deeply grateful for the positive difference each of you makes in the lives of our students! #MTA #HappyThanksgiving 🦃

Our winners of the MTA Pumpkin Patch are in! Throughout the month of October, students created their very own pumpkin designs in Mrs. Rodgers’ Art classes. Together, they looked at many examples of ways pumpkins are decorated, from carving to painting, and everything in between. Our students' pumpkins have lined the walls of MTA and allowed for students to view and vote on the ones that were their favorites. Student took part in class critiques, where we got to discuss the pumpkin works and help one another decide on our voting. We have loved seeing their creativity, and we can’t wait to see what we have in store for the rest of the year! #MTA #ArtFun 🎃🎨

Students and faculty collected items for “blessing bags” to be delivered to those less fortunate in our community. Each bag included toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant, hand sanitizer, granola bars and warm socks. Student Council packed the bags, and they were then delivered to the Erie City Mission, where their outreach team will distribute them to those in need. #MTA #Service #Community 🧡💙

Second grade is in the Thanksgiving spirit! First, they spent days disguising their turkey to protect it from being eaten on Thanksgiving Day! They then had to write a piece to persuade everyone that their turkeys were not actually turkeys. They also learned about the history of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! They learned how the floats and balloons are made, and then made their own smaller-size parade balloons! The students enjoyed showing off their creativity and writing skills and couldn't wait to show off their creations to their neighboring classes! #MTA #ThanksgivingFun 🦃

In addition to our Winter Wonderland Holiday Concert, our youngest Saints will present their holiday concert on Friday, December 13, during the school day. The show will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the cafeteria and will feature our Kinder Singers and First/Second Grade Chorus. Our students have been working hard to memorize their music and dance moves, and they are very excited to share their talents with you! There will be cookies and refreshments following the show, and also a photo opportunity with a special guest, so mark your calendars to join in the fun! #MTA #HolidayCheer ⛄🎄

We invite you to our third annual Winter Wonderland Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 12, at 5:30 p.m.! Our Third/Fourth Grade Chorale, Fifth Grade Ukulele Ensemble, Singing Saints, and Percussion Ensembles will be performing many festive tunes for you to enjoy. A hot cocoa bar and cookies/treats will be provided as well. Mark your calendars and join us for a special night of music that will lift your spirit and fill you with joy! #MTA #WinterWonderland ❄⛄

Ms. Muto’s middle school English/Language Arts classes made a gratitude wall! Students discussed what "gratitude" means to them and how we can express our gratitude. Then, they listed five things they have gratitude for and made a turkey! Students are most grateful for their families, their teachers, MTA, and God. #MTA #Gratitude 🦃

Second grade had their annual Math Turkey Trot! Students go head-to-head to complete different challenges and solve word problems. Students "trotted" around the second floor to search for their task cards and practice applying problem solving skills! #MTA #MathFun 🦃

Third and fourth grade have been learning about viruses and our immune systems in science class! Mr. Conley invited our students to the STEM lab to try out the VR headsets and learn even more about how our bodies fight viruses and bacteria. #MTA #Science 🦠

Who doesn't love a fresh can of Play-Doh? Fourth grade used Play-Doh in math yesterday to reinforce concepts of area and perimeter. They practiced perimeter by figuring out how much fencing they would need to enclose a backyard. Then, they determined the area so they would know how many square feet of carpet they would need for a living room! #MTA #MathFun
