Happy Father’s Day!! 💙🧡

Second grade used the writing skills they learned this year to complete two writing projects! They published their own class book on jungle animals. They researched the animal they chose and illustrated a picture of it, too! They also wrote a poetry book containing 12 different types of poetry. They were so excited and proud to be poets and published authors! #MTA #Writing 📚

Third and fourth grade had an amazing time at the zoo today! All the animals were out enjoying the beautiful weather. They were able to see lions, lemurs, red pandas, and so much more. After the zoo, they had lunch at the park and spent time at the playground! #MTA #ZooDay 🦁🦏🐅🦓🦘

Fourth grade celebrated the end of the year by having a camping day! Students used their creativity and problem-solving skills to construct tents throughout the classroom. They had the chance to bring in blankets and pillows to make their campsites extra cozy. The students really rose to the occasion and did an amazing job working together! They then had an opportunity to watch the BFG (Big Friendly Giant). They have been reading the BFG novel for the last few weeks and were excited to see the book come to life! #MTA #CampingDay 🏕

"True friendship is immeasurably valuable." 🕷🐷
Second grade shared the seemingly simple story, "Charlotte's Web," about an imaginative girl, farm animals, a small pig, and a barn spider. They were drawn in as the characters, plot, and many life lessons unfolded. They also enjoyed the movie, snacks, and even some "Wilbur" cupcakes after they finished the novel. #MTA #CharlottesWeb

Ms. Nolan’s sixth-grade math class found a fun way to bring animals to their geometry unit! Students worked in groups to create 3D animals using only rectangular prisms. Students then had to calculate the volume and surface area of each body part. #MTA #Math 🐷🐶🐵

We closed out last week by celebrating our awesome janitor, Thea! We wanted to make sure to thank him for all his hard work in keeping our school clean. We decorated his janitor closet, hung a banner, had the students create cards for him, and we even surprised him with his favorite food! Thank you, Thea, for keeping our school so clean and for your amazing upbeat attitude every day! You are so appreciated! #MTA #Family 🧡💙

Fifth, sixth, and seventh grade took a field trip to the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and Presque Isle State Park on Friday. Students explored the interactive exhibits, watched a film about the park, and climbed to the top of the observation tower. Students then spent the afternoon playing in the sand; some even put their feet in cold water! #MTA #FieldTrip 🏖

First grade spent the final Friday of the school year having a water day! They had water balloons and water blasters. Students teamed up against Ms. Szoszorek, but she got them back! Everyone said it was one of the best days this school year! #MTA #WaterDay 💧

Yesterday, fifth, sixth and seventh grade took a field trip to Asbury Woods! Students spent hours walking the trails and exploring nature in the woods. Students were challenged with a scavenger hunt to capture the best pictures of a creature, plant, tree, water, and rock. After eating lunch at the picnic pavilion, students played on the playground, pickleball, and sand volleyball. #MTA 🏞

Third and fourth grade went to Asbury Woods on Tuesday! Students got to spend the afternoon outside hiking, playing soccer, volleyball, and on the playground. While there, Miss. Nordlund handed over her cameras to the students and allowed them to be the photographers for the day! Students learned about how to properly hold and handle a camera, along with how to focus it, zoom, frame their photos, and how to look at things from a different angle! All the photos here were taken BY THE STUDENTS (except for a few group shots and while hiking)!! Students took turns passing the camera around between one another, encouraging one another on their shots, and giving critiques and advice on how to improve their next one! We are so proud of our young artists and future photographers. They truly do some amazing things each day! #MTA #Photography 📸

Today, we celebrated the graduation of our kindergarteners, Aloha-style! We would also like to extend a special thank you to Valerios for providing the food for the event and to the Rosado Family for the centerpieces and cookies! #MTA #KindergartenGraduation #Luau 🌸🎓

This morning, Mrs. Noble and Ms. Szoszorek organized a surprise baby shower for Mrs. Vella!
